Glucerna is a reduced-carbohydrate, modified-fat, fiber-containing formula designed to enhance blood glucose response in people with abnormal glucose tolerance when used as a nutritional component of therapy in patients prone to elevated blood glucose levels. It provides only 34.3% of total calories as carbohydrate. The unique fat blend, rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, provides the majority of the nonprotein calories. The formulation includes soy fiber to help maintain normal bowel function.
